Alice in Wonderland Weeding Inspiration, Fingask Castle, Scotland
There may be a lot of castles in Scotland, but few are as unique or quirky as Fingask! When Kate & George first got in touch about their wedding photography at Fingask Castle, I couldn’t help but be excited! Not only was this a Scottish wedding venue I’d long been hoping to photograph, their theme was my favourite childhood story! I can’t imagine any other venue suiting an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding the way Fingask Castle does- quirky details, dramatic architecture and huge gardens of massive flowers and oddly shaped bushes. Drop that into the beautiful Scottish countryside- rolling hills and green as far as the eye can see- and you’ve found your Wonderland.
The girls got ready inside the beautiful castle, before heading outside and down the rabbit hole into a lovely “hidden” cove for the ceremony. Kate & George said their “I Do’s” surrounded by nature and the people that love them the most. What more could you want? We had way too much fun exploring the vast gardens; each time we turned a corner there was a different backdrop to discover! I was absolutely amazed at the transformation of the marquee into a real wonderland with hanging vines, lots of colour and a little bit of sparkle. To make it even more special, Kate made most of her decorations herself; she spent hours hand crafting dozens of paper flowers to form an archway & decorate the marquee and her colourful literary centrepieces were her own creation too! They danced the night away and the party was second to none- the perfect end to what was truly a magical day.
